The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter Review

Name: The Goddess Test (Goddess Test # 1)
Published: April 19th, 2011
Publisher: Harlequin
304 pages

It's always been just Kate and her mom—and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld—and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy—until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.-

My Review:

It seems like more and more authors are diving into retellings of Greek myths, especially the myth of Hades and Persephone. Like I've said in previous posts, I am a HUGE fan of anything that has to do with Greek Mythology and The Goddess Test was an awesome retelling of one of my favorite myths!

The first thing that caught my eye about this book was the cover! It is really unique and I loved the colors and the girl lying on the grass.

Another thing that made this book really stand out to me was the plot. The storyline was very different then other retellings of this myth and I really liked how this retelling stood out.

The romance of this novel was one of my favorite parts! I loved seeing Henry's and Kate's relationship grow throughout the novel and I was so happy when they finally got together.

If you love Greek mythology, or you are looking for a great summer read look no further! This book is one to check out!

My Rating:
Five out of Five Stars
