Follow and Feature Friday # 38

Hi everyone..Happy Friday!! Follow and Feature Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.
I hope everyone is having an awesome week and happy belated fourth of July!!

So here's this Friday's question..

Q: Jumping Genres - Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don't like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

A: For the longest time, I wasn't a fan of dystopian books (excluding the Hunger Games!!). I really just couldn't get into them and some of the ones I read really made me sad. My view on dystopian books totally changed when I picked up Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi! Oh man..literally one of my favorite books ever. The world that Tahereh Mafi creates is so captivating and I found myself really interested in the world that she created. I wasn't confused, and when I finished this book, I didn't find myself being depressed after but instead wanting to reread this book over again! After reading Shatter Me, I really have a much more open mind about dystopian books and I try to read more when I get the chance :)

So..whats your answer this week? Leave me a message in the comments and let me know!

P.S. Don't Forget to Enter my 1 year Blogoversary giveaway here.

  14. Dystopian still isn't one of my favourite genres despite liking Matched, The Hunger Games & Divergent. I'll have to give this one a read to see if it can sway me over to Dystopian novels for good lol.

  25. I am the same, until I read Divergent and Insurgent, I would not read any Dystopian book, (also Hunger Games, to me the movie does not even look good) But i may give it a try(the book) sometime. I have Shatter me on my tbr list, sounds good. I stay mostly anything paranormal/supernatural, here is my post FF post

I'm still new to the dynastopian books. I read The Hunger Games and some books that look like they could be dynastopian :p but I'm still learning new titles, so I'm going to put this one on the list! I hope you can find other titles you like ^^

  33. I love dystopians but I can certainly imagine there being a few horrible ones out there, ones that focus so much on the doom and gloom there is just no appeal to them.
