Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.

Unless he can earn a soul.

To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.

To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.

And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

My Review:
When I got this book on my kindle a couple of days ago, I literally screamed because I was so excited for this book!!

The Iron Knight is definitely my favorite book out of the whole Iron Fey series! I was not sure how I was going to like it because it was from Ash's point of view, but as I read more and more of this book I found myself loving to hear Ash's side of the story.

One of the best part's of this book was Puck. He is HYSTERICAL. I was laughing almost every single time he spoke! He really is one of my favorite characters!

This book also made me love Ash even more then I did before. He is so dedicated to be with Meghan that he will do anything. Seeing him struggle to get to Meghan throughout the book made my heart break! I was rooting for Ash the whole time throughout the novel, and the end of the book made my heart soar!
Of course I won't give anything away, but I really enjoyed the end of the novel. It was a very satisfying way to end an awesome series!

Can't wait for more books from Julie Kagawa! If you haven't checked out the Iron Fey series you should, and for those who have, I hope you enjoy the Iron Knight as much as I did!

My Rating:
Five out of Five Stars

  4. The Iron Knight departs from the others in the series--and this was foreshadowed in the in-between novella Summer's Crossing--because it isn't told from the point of view of Meghan Chase, as the other three books are. In fact, Meghan is very much on the outside of most of this novel. Instead, we get to see inside the head of Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn, as he narrates almost all of the story--fitting, since it's finally HIS story. At the end of The Iron Queen, Meghan has taken her place as the ruler of the Iron Fey and banished Ash from her kingdom, as being there would slowly kill him since true Summer and Winter Fey cannot tolerate iron in any form.
