Waiting on Wednesday 12: The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight
Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine!
Name: The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight
Author: Jennifer E. Smith
Publisher: Poppy
Release Date: January 2nd, 2012
I cannot wait for this book!!! It looks amazing!! It reminds me a little bit of Anna and the French Kiss which is one of my favorite books! I really like the cover for this one too, the black and white goes really well with the red!
Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?
Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18B. Hadley's in 18A.
Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.-Goodreads

Double Clutch by Liz Reinhardt Review
Name: Double Clutch
Release Date: September 6th, 2011
What happens when you fall for the perfect guy...twice...in one day?
Brenna Blixen spent her freshman year homeschooling in Denmark; now that she's back in the States, she's determined to make her sophomore year unforgettable. And by unforgettable, she imagined awesome classes, fun friendships, and maybe a little romance.
What she got was a whole lot of romance, and all at once.
The same day that dark, brooding Saxon Maclean charmed her with his killer good looks and whip-smart wit, Jake Kelly stole her breath away with his heart-wrenching smile and intelligent, thoughtful focus.
But Saxon is a proud player who makes it clear that he doesn't know why he can't get Brenna off of his mind and out of his system, and Jake's sweet and humble attitude hides a secret past life that might be darker and more complex than Brenna is willing to deal with.
Complicating the matter is the fact that Saxon and Jake were once best friends and are now arch-enemies...and the more Brenna finds out about their connection to each other, the more intrigued and worried she becomes.
Between keeping the peace with her lovingly over-protective parents, designing t-shirts for her high school's rising punk band, keeping up her grades in classes split between academic and technical high school, and running the track like a maniac, Brenna has enough to worry about with out juggling two guys who make her heart thud and drive her crazy all at once.
She has to make a choice, but how is she supposed to do that when giving her heart to one of them might mean breaking the other's?
Recommended Age Group: Older YA- Goodreads
My Review:
Right when I started Double Clutch I was immediately hooked! I really enjoyed seeing Breena balance her school life and social life because many teenagers have to go through this challenge as well!
I also really liked seeing Breena's relationship with Saxon and Jake during the novel. It was interesting to see her react with two different boys, who were once best friends, and figure out what happened between them.
Also, seeing her with a "bad boy" and a reformed "good boy" was awesome! Elizabeth handled this perfectly and it was really awesome to see it come out!
I loved seeing Breena's relationship with her parents. Her parents and Breena are so close knit and adorable and I loved reading scenes where they were together!
One of the best parts of the novel was seeing Breena progress as a character. I felt that at the beginning of the novel she is somewhat naive and innocent. But as the novel progresses she becomes this strong, independent teenager.
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves contemporary novels!!
Thanks to Liz Reinhardt for letting me review this awesome book!!

Waiting on Wednesday 11: Of Poseidon
Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine
Name: Of Poseidon
Author: Anna Banks
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Release Date: May 22nd, 2012
I LOVE the cover to this book!! Its gorgeous! The colors are amazing! Other then the cover really catching my eye, the plot to this novel seems very intriguing and mysterious! I can't wait to get my hands on this one!!
Emma and her friend Chloe are spending vacation in Florida. When Emma (literally) runs into a hot guy named Galen on the beach, little does she know he’s a prince of the Syrena. Galen and Emma both feel something strange – is it attraction? – and Galen suspects that Emma might well be the girl he’s heard of – a human who can communicate with fish.
What follows is a deadly scene with a shark in which Galen witnesses Emma’s gifts. He must know more about her, and follows her back to New Jersey, and high school, to find out for sure if she’s the key to saving his kingdom. Soon, Emma can’t deny her feelings for him, but can’t explain them, either – and both she and Galen must learn more about where she comes from and what her powers are before they can trust one another and their feelings.-Goodreads

The Poison Diaries by Maryrose Wood, The Duchess Of Northumberland Review
Name: The Poison Diaries
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Release Date: July 20th, 2010
288 pages
In the right dose, everything is a poison. Even love . . .
Jessamine Luxton has lived all her sixteen years in an isolated cottage near Alnwick Castle, with little company apart from the plants in her garden. Her father, Thomas, a feared and respected apothecary, has taught her much about the incredible powers of plants: that even the most innocent-looking weed can cure -- or kill.
When Jessamine begins to fall in love with a mysterious boy who claims to communicate with plants, she is drawn into the dangerous world of the poison garden in a way she never could have imagined . . . -Goodreads
My Review:
Overall, this was a pretty good book! Their were moments that I really enjoyed but their were some moments that I did not really like.
One of the first things that I liked about this book was the setting! I really liked seeing how people lived in early 19th century England!
I also really liked seeing the relationship between Jessamine and Weed (the mysterious boy she meets). It was nice seeing their relationship progress through the novel.
One of the things that I did not really like was the plot twist towards the end of the novel. I felt that this part was unnecessary and I wished that this part was not included in the novel.
Anyways, I still really enjoyed this novel and I am looking forward to reading the second book in this series. I recommend that you all give this one a shot!

A. Hmmm...this is a tricky one! Of course I would love to see Harry Potter come to life! That would be amazing! Also, one of my favorite books, Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini. I LOVE Greek mythology and it would be awesome to see that story become a reality!

Ah! I am so excited for this one!! I LOVED the first book in the series, Darkness Becomes her!
What really caught my eye about this book was the cover! It's gorgeous! Not that I didn't like the cover of the first book, I think this one has more details and I love the girl's hair in the back!

Crave by Melissa Darnell Review
Name: Crave
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Release Date: October 18th, 2011
416 pages
Thank's Netgalley and Harlequin Teen for giving me this ARC to read!
Savannah Colbert has been shunned all her life by the kids of the Clann. And when she undergoes some drastic changes after a strange illness, Savannah learns secrets about the group and about herself—dangerous secrets. For the Clann are powerful magic users, and Savannah herself is half Clann and half vampire—a forbidden, unheard of combination. Falling for Clann golden boy Tristan Coleman isn't just a bad idea—it could be deadly if anyone finds out. But her attraction to Tristan—and his to her—isn't something either of them can resist for long.-Goodreads
My Review:
Wow what a great read! At first, I was a little bit skeptical about this one and I wasn't sure I was going to like it. The beginning was a little bit slow for me, but around 40 pages in things started picking up and I found myself really enjoying this book!
I really liked how original this book was. I haven't read any books about a half witch (or clann members as in this book) half vampire so it was really interesting to see the story unfold.
I also really liked seeing Tristan and Savannah interact throughout the novel! I don't want to give too much away but it was nice seeing their relationship progress throughout the novel!
Overall, I recommend this book looking for some paranormal with a side of romance!
My Rating: Four out of Five stars
Side note: My reviews/posts might be later in the day because of school in such. No worries though I am still going to be posting!

Waiting on Wednesday 9: Tempest
Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine!
Name: Tempest
Author: Julie Cross
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin
Release Date: January 3rd, 2012
Ah this book looks so awesome!! I love the cover!! The plot seems really unique and I have not really read many books about time traveling so this should be a fun read! I am super excited for this one and I can't wait till January!!!!!
The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.
That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.
Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.
But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him.
Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.-Goodreads

The Vampier Stalker by Allison van Diepen Review
Name: The Vampire Stalker
Publisher: Point
Release Date: June 1st, 2011
What if the characters in a vampire novel left their world--and came into yours?
Amy is in love with someone who doesn't exist: Alexander Banks, the dashing hero in a popular series of vampire novels. Then one night, Amy meets a boy who bears an eerie resemblance to Alexander. In fact, he IS Alexander, who has escaped from the pages of the book and is in hot pursuit of a wicked vampire named Vigo. Together, Amy and Alexander set out to track Vigo and learn how and why Alexander crossed over. But when she and Alexander begin to fall for each other, Amy wonders if she even wants him to ever return to the realm of fiction.-Goodreads
My Review:
Wow what a really fun read! It might sound weird, but I have always imagined my favorite character from a book coming to life and this book (sort of) made my dreams come true!
It was really awesome to see Amy's journey throughout the novel and seeing her meet and eventually fall in love with her favorite character: Alexander Banks.
The only thing that I did not really like about this one was the plot moved a little bit too quick and I wished that the story was longer!
If you always have imagined your favorite book character coming to life, give this book a try!

Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout Review
Name: Half-Blood (Covenant # 1)
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Release Date: October 18th, 2011
281 pages
This is an ARC received from the publisher! (Thank-you Spencer Hill Press!!!)
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.-Goodreads
My Review:
If I could describe this book in one word it would be: AMAZING!!
The first thing that caught my eye about this book was the cover! It's gorgeous! Before I read Half-Blood, I read the prequel which really got me in the mood for this book (link to the e-book is here: http://www.site.spencerhillpress.com).
/Daimon.php)
One of my favorite characters in this book is Alex. She is so strong willed and is willing to fight back which was really awesome! I also loved Aiden. He really wants to help Alex and I loved seeing them interact throughout the novel.
I really liked how the Greek mythology was used in this book! I am an avid fan of Greek mythology and I have seen it written in various different ways in different novels and I really like how Jennifer L. Armentrout used it and made it really special for her book!
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this book!! Read the e-book before the book comes out to get a taste of this awesome series!

Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard Review
Name: Wanderlove
Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers
Release Date: March 13th, 2012
335 pages
This book is an ARC received from netgalley!
It all begins with a stupid question:
Are you a Global Vagabond?
No, but 18-year-old Bria Sandoval wants to be. In a quest for independence, her neglected art, and no-strings-attached hookups, she signs up for a guided tour of Central America—the wrong one. Middle-aged tourists with fanny packs are hardly the key to self-rediscovery. When Bria meets Rowan, devoted backpacker and dive instructor, and his outspokenly humanitarian sister Starling, she seizes the chance to ditch her group and join them off the beaten path.
Bria's a good girl trying to go bad. Rowan's a bad boy trying to stay good. As they travel across a panorama of Mayan villages, remote Belizean islands, and hostels plagued with jungle beasties, they discover what they've got in common: both seek to leave behind the old versions of themselves. And the secret to escaping the past, Rowan’s found, is to keep moving forward.
But Bria comes to realize she can't run forever, no matter what Rowan says. If she ever wants the courage to fall for someone worthwhile, she has to start looking back.
Kirsten Hubbard lends her artistry into this ultimate backpacker novel, weaving her drawings into the text. Her career as a travel writer and her experiences as a real-life vagabond backpacking Central America are deeply seeded in this inspiring story.-Goodreads
My Review:
Wow what a great read!! This book truly was inspiring and made me want to go on an adventure just like Bria.
At first, I did not really like the main character Bria. But as the novel went on, I saw myself rooting for her as she goes across Central America. I really liked seeing her grow as a character during her journey.
I also really liked the plot of this novel! I have never read any books about backpacking so it was really cool as a reader to learn about it with Bria.
Overall, highly recommend this book! It was a really great read!

Antara by by Marilena Mexi Review/Giveaway!!
Name: Antara
Publisher: Lulu
Release Date: March 22, 2011
Peace and tranquility on the island of Aster, home to both humans and 'merfolk', has long been broken by a devastating phenomenon, recurring every five years. A storm including gusting winds and huge waves mysteriously appeared and eradicated much of the population. The misunderstandings, suspicion and hate born of this disaster have torn the two races apart, and the peace loving merfolk are now in a never-ending struggle to prove their innocence and restore peace to the island. On the human side, things are even worse; under the tyranny of cruel king Orestis, the people suffer and all their king cares for is vengeance against the "fish", as he spitefully calls them, executing merfolk after merfolk for just being near his lands. Secrets, intense emotions and strange phenomena will upset their lives forever.-Goodreads
My Review:
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I have been reading a lot of books lately because of my power outage and this was a really great one!!
I really liked how this story was really orginal and very different then other mermaid stories that I have read. The only complaint that I have with this book is that it felt really rushed and I wish the story was dragged out a little bit more.
Otherwise, I really enjoyed this book and I hope you all will too :)
