Thanks to Netgalley and Walker Childrens for providing me with an ARC copy of this book!!
For seventeen years, Eloise Hart had no idea the world of Faery even existed. Now she has been abducted and trapped in the Rath of Lord Strahan, King of Faery. Strahan was only meant to rule for seven years, as Faery tradition dictates, and then give up his crown to another. But he won't comply, and now chaos threatens both worlds.
The only one who can break his stranglehold on the Faery court is his wife. . . Eloise's aunt Antonia. Using Eloise to lure Antonia, Strahan captures his wife, desperate to end the only threat to his reign. Now Eloise must become the rescuer. Together with her best friends Jo and Devin, she must forge alliances with other Fae, including a gorgeous protector named Lucas, and Strahan's mysterious son, Eldric-who may or may not betray them.-Goodreads

My Review:
When I first saw this book and read this description..I was a little bit hesitant. I have read a bunch of books about faeries so I wasn't sure how much I would like this one. Overall..I really enjoyed Stolen Away. It was very different from other faerie books that I have read which I really enjoyed!! It was nice to see something different then the traditional faerie stories.
I really liked how the author had the chapters alternating between the two best friends- Jo and Eloise. I really enjoyed seeing two different points of view and getting a different perspectives as well!!
One thing that bothering me in this book was that the romance in it seemed way to rushed/forced. I don't have a problem with insta-love, but sometimes it just seems way to rushed and in this case I would have rather seen the relationships in this novel to be a little bit more drawn out then happening instantly.
In the end, I really liked this book!! It was a fun read and it was enjoyable to see a new perspective on faerie life! If you are looking for a fun paranormal book then I recommend you check this book out!!
My Rating: Four out of Five Stars
I've seen some really good reviews around for this book lately but I don't normally tend to like books about faeries. Might have to give it a try though after hearing so many good things about it! Great review :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, this one sounds fun! I love the idea of the POV alternating between two friends, as opposed to the love interests!
ReplyDeleteAh, and I know what you mean about the instalove. I can deal with isntant attraction/flirtation/connection/feeling, when it's written well. When it's written well it doesn't feel forced, because it feels genuine. That's irritating, but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it otherwise! xx
i've been meaning to read this book as well! I've heard of it somewhere but it sounds really interesting! So glad you enjoyed it, Sarah!! ♥ Awesome review! :)
