I hope everyone is having a great week! Did anyone do anything fun?
Okay so here is this Friday's question:
Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?
A: Hmm..I think I would rather read my favorite book over and over again then read 100 mediocre books. Who would want to read a book that is so so over your favorite book that makes you smile/laugh/cry/sigh every single time you read it?? I know I would love to re-read all of my favorite books over and over and (hopefully!!) get the same effect I got the first time I read the book.
Here are a few of my all time favorites:
I chose the 100 books alternative... then i would truly appreciate my fav book :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

I do wonder about getting sick of my favourite book, but there are always new angles and nuances to discover. Besides, I just can't bring myself to waste time with mediocre reads.

I absolutely agree with you.
ReplyDeleteAnna&Etienne's story was fantastic :) Loved it very much!
I absolutely, 100% agree. Also, some of your favourite books have gorgeous covers!
ReplyDeleteNew follower! :) Here's my answer, by the way.
I'd have to re-read my favorites over and over even though I run the risk of getting sick of them. I've re-read the Harry Potter books a handful of times, and every time I pick up the books it's like reading the series for the first time all over again! I know the general storyline, but there are so many great moments to relive, and there are loads of details that I pick up on that I missed during my first (few) reads!
ReplyDeleteWhile I enjoy reading my favorites again, I also like discovering new books. Can't do that without reading everything.

I agree. The mediocre books are forgettable reads. I couldn't pass up the chance to read a book that thrills my imagination. New follower.
ReplyDeleteHopping through. Love that you chose both Anna and Statistical! I loved them too.

I've read the other comments and I agree with this: we need to read and discover new books and in the process we found great books but also, mediocre material.

That's the thing. I don't think I will get the same feelings every single time since I know what's going to happen.

Oh my goodness, this is such a hard question, huh? And I mean... who to say that buried within the mediocrity there aren't GEMS? But seriously? Looking at your favorites? Have I mentioned I LOVE you? I'm with you. I could read Anna over and over and over. J'aime.
