Thank you Spencer Hill Press for sending me an ARC copy of this book!!

There is need. And then there is Fate...

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

My Review:
When thinking about a word that came to mind to describe how I felt once I finished Pure, I would have to go with AMAZING. I was a little bit unsure at first how much I would like Pure, especially since sometimes the second book in some series have been disappointing to me..but this book definitely didn't disappoint!!

Of course, one of my favorite parts about this book was the plot!! I was immediately swept back into the world of Alex, Seth, and Aiden, and I couldn't put this book down! It was really fun to read about Alex training more at the covenant and seeing her progress with her skills! I also liked learning a little bit more about the daimons and also learning about new mythology in this book. I also liked how Jennifer L. Armentrout was able to make the mythology her own, and take a new spin on greek mythology instead of following the original formula and I like seeing different twists on classic myths.

Another aspect of this book which I loved was the romance!! Usually I'm not a huge fan of love triangles/forbidden romances but Jennifer L. Armentrout really made it work so it didn't seem like a love triangle at all. (spoiler alert if you haven't read the first book) I really loved both of Alex's relationship's with Aiden and Seth. With Seth, it's a lot more unpredictable and wild, but with Aiden it feels very passionate and caring. I know that I can't decide which boy I like more..both are great guys in their own way!!

Their were definitely many moments in this book that I didn't see coming at all which was really nice. I like to be kept on my toes when I'm reading a book and I really liked how Jennifer L. Armentrout was able to keep the plot suspenseful. Pure definitely was an emotional ride, some moments I was laughing and other moments I was about to cry. These are the books that I really love and feel that I can really get into and enjoy.

Another aspect of this book that I really enjoyed was the main character Alex! She is a really great, strong willed character. I like how she is able to stand up for herself but is also really real and relatable to a regular teenage girl.

Overall, I really enjoyed Pure, just as much as I loved Half-Blood!! I highly recommend this book to fans of Greek Mythology, and people who want a great paranormal read! I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Deity, which will be published in the fall.

My Rating: Five out of Five Stars

  1. Team Aiden....he's just so yummy and forbidden!

  2. I was Team Aiden after Half Blood.. now I'm Team Seth.. I don't like the hot/cold that Aiden was pulling in this book. Cannot wait for Deity!!!!

  3. Ooh I like the cover of this and the story sounds great. Thanks for the heads-up!

  4. I'm with Cassandra. Team Seth now, though I used to be Team Aiden. I liked Aiden so much better in Half-Blood.

  5. great review, i haven't read half- blood yet so it's difficult for me to decide a team. so far from the review i choose aiden but now with the review of pure i'm not so sure

and i love the covers of theses books

    all the best

  6. Team Seth!
Like the others I like Aiden better in Half-Blood but I've been on Team Seth even then. There's just something about him... :P

  7. I think after reading Pure that I am Team Seth, at least for now.

  8. Team Aiden because he is so forbidden and so cute, when he wants. I have only read Half Blood but I haven`t read Pure so I really don`t know much about Seth.

  9. I think i like Aiden better because of the whole forbidden aspect. nothing wrong with seth though :)

  10. I'm team Aiden all the way! I love his character. Seth is cool guy, but Aiden is just Aiden!

    Thanks! :)

  11. I am Team Seth. There is just something about him... :)

  12. Team Both! Aideth all the way! :D

  13. I am definitely Team Aiden!!! ♥

  14. I agree the plot was great. I predicted things in HB but not in Pure. So good.

Thanks for being part of the tour.

  15. Team Aiden, but I have a feeling that I may start to like Seth a lot more in the next book. Awesome review and I can't wait to read this book!! :)

  16. I cant wait to read this series! I have the two books but havent find the time to read it yet, gosh it sounds awesome based on your review. cant wait to get started!x

  17. Team Seth! He is just so funny and charming. Great review.

  18. I loved your review! I haven't actually read the Covenant series yet so I don't don't know which team I'm on. I've read Obsidian though and from what I've heard, Seth sounds a lot like Daemon!

  19. The soul is infinite, made up of aspects that come and go all the time. It’s our nature for parts of the soul to travel while we meditate or dream. Through this process we grow, we learn new thoughts, thus desires, and our consciousness evolves.
