Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine!
Name: The Vicious Deep
Author: Zoraida Córdova
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Release Date: April 12th, 2012
Why I want to read this book:
Okay first, this cover is GORGEOUS! I love how the mermaid is in the water with red lips, it looks awesome! The plot for this book also sounds very mysterious and I like how the main character is a boy! It has been a while since I have read a story with a boy main protagonist so I am interested in seeing what happens! Is it April yet?!
Set against the backdrop of a Coney Island summer comes The Vicious Deep, the story of sixteen year old Tristan Hart whose life is turned upside down when the mermaids make an unscheduled return to land in search of their new king.
When a sudden storm pulls Tristan from lifeguard duty into a deadly riptide, he discovers what he really is—a prince of the Sea Court. Turns out, his girlfriend hopping and talents as a swimmer aren’t caused by his teenage prime hormones after all.
In this modern Arthurian tale with a twist, when all a guy wants to do is get The Girl and enjoy the freak show that is a Coney Island summer, Tristan has to fight for his life, the lives of his friends, and his humanity, if he still wants it, as he’s caught in a race for a throne that is as ancient as the gods.-Goodreads

Kelly Green Interview/Borrowing Abby Grace giveaway!
Hi everyone! Today I have the lovely Kelly Green, author of the Abby Grace series, here for an interview!
Can you tell us a little about your novel Borrowing Abby Grace?
Twitter version: Abby Grace wakes up to find she is a ghost with missing memories and
must rescue a kidnapped boy or be trapped in a strange body forever.
What is your favorite part of the writing process?
Overcoming writer’s block. Best feeling in the world!
Where did you get the idea for this series?
I got approached by my publisher to do a series of Nancy Drew-esque novellas, only
modernized with a sassy protagonist and a supernatural element. I’ve always loved
sassy protagonists and supernatural books so I jumped at the chance. What especially
excited me is reversing the traditional ghost story setup. Usually in ghost stories the
protagonist is alive and solves an old unexplained mystery, some lingering hurt, and
then the ghost goes away. But with Abby, she’s dealing with the very real problems of
living people. They’re going on right now, these urgent and suspenseful dilemmas.
I know borrowing Abby Grace is the first of many in this series, how many books are you
thinking of writing for Abby Grace?
My third book in the Borrowing Abby Grace series is scheduled to be released in
early December. And I’m currently working on books 4, 5 and 6. They’re a trilogy I’m
tentatively entitling “Nemesis.” But the show could go on…
Do you plan on writing any other books in different genres?
Not at the moment. I’m working on Borrowing Abby Grace for the time being, but who
knows where things will go from there!
What is the best book that you have read this past year and why?
The Hunger Games. Although I really should start reading happier books…but they are
just so addicting and I can’t wait for the movie!
What was your favorite book growing up and why?
I wish I had more time to read. I do still read at night, before going to bed, but not like
I used to. Some of my all-time favorite books are: Coraline, Phillip Pullman’s His Dark
Materials trilogy, A Wrinkle in Time, The Book Thief, The Curious Incident of the Dog in
the Nighttime, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events series, and anything by
Roald Dahl.
Are there books you would recommend to fellow bloggers and readers out there?
Definitely check out The Dig by Audrey Hart. She’s a new author just like me, working
with Backlit Fiction, and her debut novel is so so good! The Dig is the first book in a
trilogy that follows outsider Zoe Calder on her travels through time to Ancient Greece
where she discovers that she has special powers and battles the Greek gods! If you like
YA and mythology, it’s a must read.
Thank's Kelly for answering my questions!
Kelly also has graciously offered to give away ONE copy of Borrowing Abby Grace to one lucky winner from the US ONLY! Please enter the contest below and good luck!

Wake Unto Me by Lisa Cach Review
Name: Wake Unto Me
Publisher: Speak
Release Date: March 31st, 2011
304 pages
A haunted castle, a handsome young man dead for four hundred years, one heck of a scary portrait of a witch, and a treasure hunt -- not to mention a princess for a roommate! -- all await 15 year old American girl Caitlyn Monahan when she earns a scholarship to a French boarding school.
There are secrets behind the stone walls of Chateau de la Fortune, buried for centuries along with the mystery of who killed Raphael, the charming ghost who visits Caitlyn at night. But as Caitlyn unearths the history of the castle, nothing scares her as badly as the secret she learns about herself, and the reason she was chosen to come to the Fortune School.
And nothing breaks her heart as badly as falling in love with a dead guy.-Goodreads
My Review:
I love young adult books that are set at boarding schools, so of course I was very excited when I first heard about this book!
The first fifty pages or so, however, I could not find myself getting into the book! I had to put this one down a few times and go back to it. After the the initial struggle however, I really got into this book and I really enjoyed it! I am very happy that I didn't to decide to give up on this book because I would have regretted it!
One of my favorite parts about this book was the paranormal romance! I am really getting into books with ghosts in it so I was happy to see that in this book!
I also liked the history aspect of this book, it was interesting to see the history of Chateau de la Fortune and all of the mystery that surrounds it!
Overall, at first this was a struggle, but in the end I really enjoyed this book!

Follow Friday # 7
Hi everyone! Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read!
So this Friday's question is:
Q: It’s Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. so we want to know what you are Thankful for – blogging related of course! Who has helped you out along the way? What books are you thankful for reading?
A: Well, since I am a fairly new blogger, I am definitely thankful for my new blogger friends who have supported and commented me and have tracked my blog from the very beginning! Thanks to all of you!!
Related to books, one book (or series I should say!) that I am thankful for is Harry Potter! Without reading having my dad read me Harry Potter when I was really little, my love for reading probably would have never grown, so I am thankful to J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter for opening my eyes to reading!
What do you all think? What are you thankful for? Please follow and I will follow back :)

The Dig (Zoe and Zeus Trilogy #1) by Audrey Hart Review
Name: The Dig (Zoe and Zeus Trilogy #1)
Publisher: Backlit Fiction
Release Date: November 7th, 2011
Thanks to Backlit Fiction and Audrey Hart for giving me review this book in exchange for an honest review!
Zoe Calder has always been an outsider. Stashed away in boarding schools since her parents died, Zoe buries herself in the study of ancient worlds. Her greatest thrill is spending her summers with her archeologist aunt and uncle on digs around the world. And one day, while investigating a newly unearthed temple in Crete, Zoe discovers a luminous artifact that transports her to ancient Greece.
As Zoe quickly learns, the Olympian Gods are real, living people—humans with mysterious powers… Powers that Zoe quickly realizes she has come to possess, as well. However, when the people of ancient Greece mistake Zoe for an Olympian, the Gods must restore the balance of the ancient world… No matter what.
Zoe is forced to play a confusing and dangerous game as Hera rallies the gods against her—all except for Zeus, the beautiful, winged young god who risks everything to save her.
Out of time and out of her element, teenager Zoe Calder finds herself in ancient Greece, battling against the power of the Olympians and the vengeance of a scorned goddess—all for the strange and mysterious boy she has come to love.-Goodreads
My Review:
What an awesome interpretation of Greek mythology!! As it is already known, one my favorite subjects to read is Greek mythology! This novel definitely stands out in the many Greek mythology books that I have read and I highly recommend!
One of my favorite parts of this book was the plot! It was very unique and It was fun to read about Zoe, a strong willed character, and see how she reacts when she goes back in time! I also really liked the archaeological component to this book! It was really fun to read about digs and uncovering artifacts!
Another aspect of this book that I really enjoyed was Zoe interacted with the different Greek g-ds! I really liked Ms. Hart's take on the g-ds and show them in a different light then they are normally seen!
Overall, this book was a really fun read and I am looking forward to the second book in this series!
My Rating: Five out of Five Stars

Borrowing Abby Grace (The Shadow # 1) by Kelly Green Review
Name: Borrowing Abby Grace
Publisher: Backlit
Release Date: October 17th, 2011
Thanks to Kelly and Backlit for letting me review this book!
Smart and sassy Abby Grace is a seventeen-year-old with a talent for getting out of trouble. Sent to repair the lives and loves of teenagers on the edge of disaster, Abby is the perfect girl for the job. She has everything going for her… except one thing: a body.
This fast-paced and exciting episode is the first installment in an ongoing mystery series with a supernatural twist.-Goodreads
My Review:
If you are looking for a fun, quick supernatural read look no further! Borrowing Abby Grace was the perfect book for you!
At first, I was a little bit skeptical about this book because of the length. How could an author get the story across in 47 pages? Kelly, however, is able to tell the story in a flowing manner without it being too rushed!
What are really liked about this story was the mystery surrounding it! It was really interesting to try and figure out what was going on while Abby was also figuring out herself!
I do wish, however, that we were given a little bit more of the backstory of Abby instead of being thrust right into the action.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it! I can't wait to see what's in story for Abby next!

Waiting on Wednesday 19: Until I Die (Revenants #2)
Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine
Name: Until I Die (Revenants #2)
Author: Amy Plum
Publisher: HarperCollins Publishers
Release Date: May 8th, 2012
Ahh I can't wait for this one!! I LOVED the first book in the series and I can't wait to see what happens next with my favorite characters. The cover of Until I Die is gorgeous! I really the color scheme and how there is some of Paris showing in the background like in the first book!
Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.
As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.
In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series-Goodreads

400 Pages
Now that she’s settled in at Shadow Falls Camp, Kylie Galen’s determined to discover the extent of her supernatural abilities. Her weekend with her mom should have been the just the break Kylie needs, but it turns out to be her breaking point. Someone from the dark side of the supernatural world has plans for Kylie--and it'll take all her resources to get back to Shadow Falls alive...-Goodreads
My Review:
I really enjoyed this book! It wasn't amazing as the first book in the series but I still had fun reading this!
One of the best parts about this book was seeing Kylie start to figure out who she is! During the last book, I was on the edge of my seat because I could not figure out what Kylie was! It's really interesting to see her go through different changes in this book!
One part of this book that I did not love was the love triangle that is sort of happening. Most of the time I am not bothered by love triangles, but for some reason I just did not like how this worked in this book. One minute she was pining for Derek and then she was thinking about Lucas! I just wished that she would focus more on one boy then thinking about both, but that's not how love triangles work :)
I also really enjoyed seeing Kylie grow as a character! In the first book in this series, we really got to know her and as a reader I wasn't sure what to make of her! I liked seeing her become more independent in this book!
Overall, I enjoyed this book! Not as great as the first but I am still looking forward to the next book in the series!

Overall, I enjoyed this book! Not as great as the first but I am still looking forward to the next book in the series!
My rating:

Follow Friday # 5
Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read!
Friday's question is...
Q: In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran’s Day tell us about your favorite solider and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.
A: A few years ago I had to do a project for Veterans day on a solider who served in a war. My veteran was a family friend who served in the Vietnam War. It was such an honor talking to him and hearing his story. He is such a sweet, courageous man and I enjoyed every second talking to him!
Comments? Who is your favorite solider?
Comment below and happy 11.11.11!!

Waiting on Wednesday 18: The Last Princess
Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine!
Name: The Last Princess
Author: Galaxy Craze
Publisher: Poppy
Release Date: May 8th, 2012
Okay, so I am not a huge fan of dystopian novels, and the only one I have really liked was the Hunger Games. But this book looks AWESOME!! I can't wait for it!! I love the cover!! England is one of my favorite places that I have been to, so I can't wait to see that in this book!
Also, the plot sounds really unique! Princesses on the run, romance and England? Can't wait for this one!!
The year is 2090.
England is a barren land. Food is rationed. Oil has decimated the oceans. The people are restless.
A ruthless revolutionary enacts a plan to destroy the royal family, and in a moment, the king is dead. His heiress, Princess Mary, and her brother, Jamie, have been abducted, and no one knows their fate. Princess Eliza Windsor barely escapes, and finds herself scared and lost in London's dangerous streets.
With a mind for revenge and the safe recovery of her siblings, Eliza joins the enemy forces in disguise. There she is tempted by her first taste of independence -- and true love. Ultimately she must summon her courage and fight to ensure that she does not become... The Last Princess.-Goodreads

Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz Review
Name: Spellbound
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Release Date: June 28th, 2011

What's a girl to do when meeting The One means she's cursed to die a horrible death?
Life hasn't been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Connor, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she's irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.
But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can't stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma's been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.-Goodreads
My Review:
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! At times, the plot seemed to be moving a little bit too quick for me but it still worked!
One of the best parts about this book was the plot! It was totally different then other books about magic that I have read and I LOVED that part about this book. It made it very unique. However, some parts of the plot were very predictable which made me sad because I like when books keep me on my toes!
I also enjoyed the relationship between Emma and Brendan. Of course, it was a lot like your typical romance in a book, but it was still fun to read!
So, if your looking for a magical read with romance look no further!

Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik Review
Name: Epic Fail
Publisher: HarperTeen
Release Date: August 2nd, 2011
Will Elise’s love life be an epic win or an epic fail?
At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Case in point:
As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school—not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.
As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn’t exactly on everyone’s must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.
When Elise’s beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince’s best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.-Goodreads
My Review:
What a fun book! Overall, I really enjoyed this book! It had some subtle references to Pride and Prejudice which I really enjoyed!
I really liked the plot of this book! At times it was very predictable but it was still enjoyable to read!
I also liked the relationship between Elise and Derek. Like I said before, there are many subtle references to Pride and Prejudice and I really liked how the author worked that in to their relationship.
Overall, this was a fun, quick read that I really enjoyed!
