Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee!
This Friday's question is:
Question: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don't like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!
Answer: Hmmm this is a tough one! I am not a huge fan really predictable plots. I really like being kept on my toes and guessing about what is going to happen next in a book, instead of knowing right away the ending of the story!
Another thing that bothers me is certain love triangles, I don't have a huge problem with them but I wish that certain love triangles can be drawn out and the reader does not know who the main character is going to pick. I like surprises in books as you can tell :)
Well, what are your biggest pet peeves? What do you think of mine? Comment below and leave your links! And don't forget to follow! I always follow back :)

Love triangles drive me nuts. Especially when it's obvious who the character is going to end up with (not naming any names, Twilight).
ReplyDeleteTY for stopping by!
Sarah thanks for dropping by my blog, I dont have problems with Love triangles as well but I wish it could be executed really well.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!

Predictable plots is another one! I don't mind kind of knowing how things will end, but if I'm able to predict the whole book after reading 2 chapters, that's a problem.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting!

Predictable plots are so annoying. What's the point of reading the story?! Great blog!

Predictable plots are a bore. I like surprises too. It helps keep you on your toes and makes the book so much more exciting!

Hopping through. I don't always mind love triangles, but they are so overdone that they have to be really good to impress me.

I agree that love triangles can be really annoying when it's always obvious who the protagonist will end up picking. There doesn't seem to be any point when it's like that!

I really enjoy love triangles, though I know many don't. However, if I can guess every move the characters are going to make...ugh.

Yeah, predictable plots feel like a bit of a time waster for me too. I think reading everyone's pet peeves is making my list grow rather quickly!

Yeah, sometimes love triangles feel forced since they're popular right now. And other times they just are written right or something! Totally agree with your peeves! :)

Yes, knowing what is going to happen is one of mine also.

Predictable plots are one of my biggest pet peeves too. Why should I continue to read the remaining 200+ odd pages if I already figured out what happens in the first 50?

I also think a lot of the time love triangels point you to the character they are meant to be with, which is frustrating.

ReplyDeletei couldn't agree more with the love triangle thing and the predictable endings. i once read a book where i knew the ending of the book a quarter of the way through.
Hey Sarah, thanks for stopping by today and following, I'm following back. Your peeves are valid and need to be taken into account ;)

I agree! Thanks for following my blog, by the way. I'm following yours back! Anyway, I like love triangles, too, but I'd prefer if the choice weren't so obvious. And about the predictable plots, I couldn't agree more. If you know ho wit ends, what's the point in reading it?
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when authors surprise us with something instead of giving us what we expect. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog. ^_^ Happy Follow Friday!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read a book and find out that there is a love triangle, I scream. That's how much I hate them. I wish they never existed and I hate the person who thought it would be a bright idea to put love triangles into literature.
