Summary:
Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.

But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.
Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.

My Review:
This book has been sitting on my shelf for weeks, and yesterday I finally decided to read it. And now, what can i say? I devoured it and absolutely loved it!! The story is amazing and the characters are all fantastic! The Duff was so much better than I had ever expected it to be! I thought that this book would be a fresh and fun read, but I never imagined that I would have liked it so much!

Bianca is a normal girl until Wesley Rush decides to call her Duffy, and introduces her the term. Bianca begins to think about her role in her group of friends and if she really is The Duff. However, that is not her main problem. She also has a lot of issues at home. Her parents are getting divorced and her father is starting to loose it. So she need a distraction, an escape; something that can help her not think. She finds this distraction in the guy she hates, the one who called her The Duff: Wesley Rush.

I really liked Bianca! She's a wonderful character whom you understand and love from the first page! Yes, sometimes she's a bit annoying and frustrating, and maybe readers cannot always connect with her or understand what she's trying to do, but I like her for those qualities! She isn't perfect, and the author doesn't try to make her a beautiful, lovely girl like all the others main characters in YA books. Her actions and her thoughts are real and human. And this is one of the main reasons I loved this book!

Wesley is a fantastic character too! At first I didn't like him very much because he was a jerk and I usually hate guys like him. But the author somehow made me understand him and his reasons for acting the way he doss. And, above all, Keplinger didn't try to turn Wesley into the perfect guy at the end. Yes, he changed, like all the others characters, but he didn't suddenly become a totally good, nice and lovely boy!

My rating is 4 stars! The Duff is a light, fun and fast read that will make you both think and laugh! I would absolutely recommend it!
